Portrait of Vincent Mattart

Tech serial entrepreneur · Switzerland

I co-found startups and build their tech.

I'm a co-founder and shareholder in four Swiss startups, and I run the tech side: architecture, team, product. Before that I spent 7 years as CTO of Gold Avenue, which went from zero to CHF 500M in revenue.

About

I work inside the projects I back.

I have been building web products for 16 years. I started by growing my own agency, Pixeleez: more than 250 projects in almost ten years. In 2017 I co-founded Gold Avenue, where I ran the tech and a team of more than 25 people while revenue went from zero to CHF 500M. My approach is to get to market as fast as possible, because that is where you find the real problems.

I join projects as a co-founder and shareholder, and I work on them directly: architecture, hiring, product decisions. It goes well beyond consulting.

I believe every team should be independent from IT. At Gold Avenue that meant a headless CMS and feature flags, so marketing could publish pages and run A/B tests without waiting for a developer. Decisions get made faster when the people closest to the customer can change their own tools.

Expertise

What I do best.

This is the work I'm good at and enjoy most. If your company or your board needs help with any of it, get in touch.

01

Entrepreneurship

I have co-founded several companies and I'm comfortable in the messy early phase: pricing, partnerships, hiring, the first fundraising conversations.

02

Product & tech strategy

I tie the roadmap to the P&L: what to build, what to buy and what to stop. Then I order the work so the team can keep up.

03

Leading teams

I have built and led distributed teams across Switzerland, France, Ukraine and India, up to 30 people at once: engineers, designers, QA, project managers and tech leads.

04

Agile that ships

Short cycles and a demo every week. I keep the process light, and I keep talking to users while we build.

05

FinTech & e-commerce

Seven years of regulated payments, KYC and precious-metal custody at Gold Avenue, and e-commerce projects since 2012. In these sectors a bad technical decision gets expensive very fast.

06

Modern stack adoption

I moved Gold Avenue from Rails to Next.js and brought in a headless CMS, feature flags, A/B testing and security tooling. I pick a tool when it solves a problem the team has.

Experience

Sixteen years of building.
